How to enable desktop playback through Lync, Skype, GotoMeeting, etc.

If you’ve ever tried to do a screen share through Lync, Skype, GotoMeeting, etc. you have probably noticed that the end user of your screen share can’t hear any of the audio coming from your computer. They only hear what is coming from the microphone.

To solve this you need a virtual audio driver that will allow you to playback to a microphone. There are two applications that do this easily and both work the same way.

Once installed, you just set your playback device as the line out or cable input then set the microphone used in the software application to the similar device. Boom. Any sounds played on your computer will be heard on the other end of the screen share.
