Windows Update error 80070490 – Solved

I recently came across the following error when trying to run Windows updates (Windows 7 Pro).
I came across this article from Microsoft which then pointed me to the System Update Readiness Tool. After running the System Update Readiness tool my Windows updates went through sucessfully.

If you receive Windows Update error 80070490, it means that a file (CBS Manifest) that’s needed to install updates is corrupt.
